[The feed opens with the sight of Ukitake coughing into his free hand. Luckily, no blood can be spottted. Yet.]

Ungh...my apologies. Even with the weather clearing up, it seems that it has finally caught up with me. [Cough.] It's what I get for traipsing about in the snow.

[He tucks himself into bed, propped up on pillows again. This is a normal pose for the Shinigami, as friends have and will come to know. Sniffling, he speaks again.]

I should be back to myself within a week or tw--

[There must have been a tickle in his throat because he's coughing violently now, red visible through the cracks of his fingers before the feed ends.]

I can feel it more than anything. In my world, Shinigami can feel a person's reiatsu, or spiritual pressure. Your presence isn't exactly the same as reiatsu, but it's similar and I can still tune into it since I know you. What I sense in your presence is...dormancy, as if you're waiting for a trigger to let loose.

[He lightens the mood a little with a short chuckle.]

And your protectiveness can appear out of nowhere.

[He tried to follow whatever Ukitake was referring to as far as the spiritual presence went. He understood a feeling at a certain person's approach and it did seem he noticed different people's approaches 'felt' different.

Squall felt his blue eyes widen at Ukitake's personal assessment. Every word struck home. The 'trigger' could be a few things as he sat and thought about it. That continued to weigh on his mind as he heard the chuckle and the bit about being protective. He smirked and tried to play it off.]

There are people I care about. You happen to be one of them.

[She just giggles at that and nearly facepalms.]

Of course not! It has it appeal at being fun.

At least I have someone I can rely on here. It's good to know.

[Slowly nods.]

Everything seems to point to that.

[Squall turns his head at the sound of a door knock.]

I suppose if that's your keeper then I'll get going.

Good, good. Growing old and deadly serious would be a shame.

[Have a long sigh. Drats, if he refused, he'd be a hypocrite, but he really doesn't want to be in the situation where she could get hurt.]

Maybe. If I'm in good health and we won't get hurt and I'm in the mood for such madness.

[She looks at him for a few second before laughing at him, Hyne,he could be so cute sometimes.]

Come on, Ukitake, is not like we are actually going to run in the wastelands, we will stay close I don't want you worrying the potential that I could get hurt.

[Squall ruffles Uki's hair with his gloved hand.]

Get some sleep old one. And you're welcome.

[He turns to go but before he leaves he looks at the man sitting on the floor.]

[Squall then leaves the house.]

[Oh my, the woman can read his mind!]

Heh, you know I'm a responsible individual.

[She wishes, but she just know him well enough to know that.]

I'm quite aware of that and that's why I feel the need to make myself clear.

[Bows his head.]

All right, you've caught me.

You're adorable and thoughtful like that.

[With a small sigh, she moves to take his hand.]

But, well, I'm not made of glass Ukitake so try not to worry much about me.

[He feels his already warm face get a little warmer at that compliment.]

I'll try, but I can't make any promises.

Well that's enough for me.

[She just looks at him and giggles a bit at the overly flushed face.]

My...am I embarrassing you too much?

N-Ne, I'm just not used to this kind of attention.

[She looks at him for long seconds and hardly believing that, it's a bit sad it it's true.]

What about your family?

Oh, my siblings are wonderful. I...meant this kind of affection.

[He squeezes her hand to emphasize his point.]

[She smiles at him softly.]

Well, I will have to change that, no?
