Cough 052 - [Accidental Video]

[The PCD turns on to show a figure wrapped up in a blanket, long white hair spilling over his shoulders. Ukitake is on the roof, though it isn't apparent as to why, but that's not important. All he's doing is staring out over the city, the chill in the air tinging his pale cheeks pink. And when he speaks, whether it's to himself or an unseen person is unknown, his voice is soft, quiet.]

Just a captain without his soldiers.

[He goes silent again for a few moments, but then chuckles to himself, a hand reaching out to the sword resting beside him, his fingers lightly trailing over the scabbard.]

That's silly of me to say. Kuchiki-san is here and others could show up any day, though I wouldn't wish this curse upon them.

[He sighs and places his palm flat against the scabbard now.]

I need a goal, Sougyo no Kotowari. I can only sit back and watch for so much longer.

[He looks back out across the expanse before the PCD shuts off.]

It would be foolish to think that nothing will go wrong. The plan is to infiltrate the city, in and out, without detection. Much of the communication has been done over the PCD that they control, so I would not be surprised if they knew that we're coming. There will be defenses in place, they will go off and I will do my best to keep them from escaping out into the city like some have said that it did the last time people tried attempting such an endeavor. However, I cannot guarantee that the barriers can and will hold, not knowing what those inside are capable of, so I need people out here, just in case something goes even more wrong.

[Honesty. That's a good thing about Urahara; he doesn't sugarcoat things, especially when the situation needs bluntness.]

If you need someone on the outside, consider it done. I'll watch and wait and hope nothing goes wrong.

_{[Waved off with fan.]}

[Doesn't the fan usually come out when Urahara is hiding something? Ukitake makes a mental note to watch closer.]

_{[He's a captain, Ukitake. Or rather, he was one, at least. That wide-eyed care for others is still there, even if he's a bit harder now.]}

[Old habits die hard.]

_[Quite.]

Do you know... they have me getting up at four in the morning tomorrow? Four! In the morning!

[He tries to hide his amusement at that statement, smiling widely into his tea.]

That must be difficult for you to fathom, Urahara-san.

_{[You fail at hiding your amusement, Ukitake.]}

I'm not sure if there's enough coffee in the world to make sure I wake up at that time...

You'll figure something out. You always do.

Oh, now you have confidence in my abilities to think, hmm, Ukitake-taichou~?

[ChuckleChuckle]

Who's to say I ever really doubted you?

_{[There's a quiet huff that's almost like a pout before Urahara suddenly sits up.]}

Maa... If all else fails, I merely won't sleep~!

Rest is good for the soul. Or so they say.

So they say~ Good thing I slept earlier in the day, hmm~?

That doesn't surprise me.

_{[He slowly pushes himself to his feet, bringing the blanket with him before grinning and dropping it on Ukitake's head. Again.]}

Perhaps I should go get more~!

[Another noise of surprise when he finds himself blanketed again. He really should have seen that coming. Freeing himself, once again, from the depths, Ukitake looks up at Urahara and gives him a smile.]

You should do what you feel is best, of course.

Well, I would like the maximize the amount of time I'm asleep for and Ukitake-taichou's bed is right here...
