Cough 055 - [Video]

[A figure of white is seen laying down on his stomach next to a pond. The haori is clearly seen, though what number on the back is hard to make out, but the white hair is a dead giveaway. However, Ukitake's hair is fluffier than normal, and there is a pair of white, round ears peeking out from his hair on top of his head. The tip of his nose is black in contrast, though, as he looks almost longingly into the water at his new reflection.]

...I know I shouldn't, but I really have this urge to go swimming.

[He dips one of his hands (still human, mind you) into the water and splashes some away from him, looking up to follow the ripples the action creates. Ukitake smiles at the sight.]

Still a little cold. Spring should be here soon, though.

[Ukitake looks away and slowly brings his knees back up to his chest.]

...I lost my best friend here and my girlfriend within the same month. I knew I wasn't alone, but...I felt like it.

_{[And for a little while longer, Urahara doesn't say anything, but the silence is soon broken by the sound of shifting, followed by Urahara pulling Ukitake in his arms.]}

[And Ukitake lets Urahara do this, relishing the touch of another, no matter how simple.]

_{[There's another nuzzle, to Ukitake's temple this time.]}

Do you still feel that way?

...Not as much as I did.

_{[And he leans in slowly, eyes flicking down towards Ukitake's lips before they meet his eyes again, his intentions clear even as he takes his time, giving the other man plenty of time to pull away before he brushes their lips together.]}

[Brown eyes watch gray, knowing full well what Urahara intends to do. Ukitake can feel his heartbeat increase and when their lips meet, his eyes finally fall closed.]

_{[This, Urahara decides, is their first kiss. A proper one, without the Animus influencing their feelings. One where both of them had had time to think this over and come to terms with it.

It's soft, gentle, warm and unhurried. And he can't ask for more.]}

[After a moment of getting used to this, Ukitake returns the kiss, but still keeps it light. He's still unsure of what Urahara means to him, but he doesn't want to cut off all opportunity. Anything was possible, after all.

Slowly, he raises a hand to Urahara's cheek, the pads of his fingers barely resting against the other man's skin.]

_{[Urahara lets Ukitake take over the kiss, giving him the time he needs, one hand slowly rising to cover the one the other man has on his cheek, his fingers brushing against the back of it in a soft caress.]}

[Ukitake kisses Urahara for just a moment longer before pulling away to breathe.]

_{[He makes no protest, taking the chance to catch his breath as well, grey eyes watching Ukitake carefully, almost warily, if one allowed themselves to think that.]}

If you're waiting for me to panic, I think you'll be disappointed.

Maa... Panicking isn't what I'm afraid of, though I do have to admit that that would be quite a blow to my ego~

Your ego might need to be brought down a few notches from time to time.

[He gently tugs some of Urahara's hair to emphasize this point.]

_{[There's the slightest, almost imperceptible relaxation of his shoulders at the tug and the teasing, and Urahara chuckles quietly before pouting.]}

You'll hurt its feelings with such implications.

I do apologize.

_{[And now, you get a waggle of the eyebrows.]}

My ego says that a kiss along with that apology wouldn't hurt~

[Ukitake smiles.]
