Cough 021 - [Video Post]

[The feed opens with the sight of Ukitake coughing into his free hand.  Luckily, no blood can be spottted.  Yet.]

Ungh...my apologies.  Even with the weather clearing up, it seems that it has finally caught up with me.  [Cough.]  It's what I get for traipsing about in the snow.

[He tucks himself into bed, propped up on pillows again.  This is a normal pose for the Shinigami, as friends have and will come to know.  Sniffling, he speaks again.]

I should be back to myself within a week or tw--

[There must have been a tickle in his throat because he's coughing violently now, red visible through the cracks of his fingers before the feed ends.]

[a more serious look comes over his face after that. And he nods.]

[Ah, so he's been using an alias. Interesting.]

Squall...a sudden storm.

[He studies Leon's, Squall's, face for a few moments.]

I think it fits you.

[A blush crept over his face at the name's analogy. It was hard to keep his gaze level with Ukitake's as he was being studied, but he didn't flinch..visibly. Curiosity won out at the last sentence.]

And how do you figure the name fits me?

I can feel it more than anything. In my world, Shinigami can feel a person's reiatsu, or spiritual pressure. Your presence isn't exactly the same as reiatsu, but it's similar and I can still tune into it since I know you. What I sense in your presence is...dormancy, as if you're waiting for a trigger to let loose.

[He lightens the mood a little with a short chuckle.]

And your protectiveness can appear out of nowhere.

[He tried to follow whatever Ukitake was referring to as far as the spiritual presence went. He understood a feeling at a certain person's approach and it did seem he noticed different people's approaches 'felt' different.

Squall felt his blue eyes widen at Ukitake's personal assessment. Every word struck home. The 'trigger' could be a few things as he sat and thought about it. That continued to weigh on his mind as he heard the chuckle and the bit about being protective. He smirked and tried to play it off.]

There are people I care about. You happen to be one of them.

[Squall turns his head at the sound of a door knock.]

I suppose if that's your keeper then I'll get going.

[Squall ruffles Uki's hair with his gloved hand.]

[He turns to go but before he leaves he looks at the man sitting on the floor.]
