Cough 055 - [Video]

[A figure of white is seen laying down on his stomach next to a pond. The haori is clearly seen, though what number on the back is hard to make out, but the white hair is a dead giveaway. However, Ukitake's hair is fluffier than normal, and there is a pair of white, round ears peeking out from his hair on top of his head. The tip of his nose is black in contrast, though, as he looks almost longingly into the water at his new reflection.]

...I know I shouldn't, but I really have this urge to go swimming.

[He dips one of his hands (still human, mind you) into the water and splashes some away from him, looking up to follow the ripples the action creates. Ukitake smiles at the sight.]

Still a little cold. Spring should be here soon, though.

My, my, Jyuushirou-san... Don't you look cute~?

[It's been a while since they last spoke, but Ukitake still feels a light dusting of pink come to his cheeks. He bows his head, some of his hair hiding the pink.]

If you say so, Urahara-san.

[Shrug.]

[And his hand moves back and forth in the water, causing endless ripples.]

[...Okay, that may not have been the best word choice.]

_{[There's a quiet hum and a small smile.]}

[Something is...off. Ukitake can't put his finger on it, but if the other man practically brushed off an attempt to tease him mercilessly, then something is definitely not right.]

[Ukitake pushes himself up and grabs the PCD to continue their conversation.]

_{[The filter seems to smack some sense back into him and the smile is back on his face in the blink of an eye.]}

[Ukitake bows his head.]

_{[There's a second or so of silence before Urahara's cheerful (too cheerful?) voice breaks it.]}

...Everything. I had a family of my own, and with someone who showed them all as much love as I did, who saw past all my failings and...loved me, too.

[Because he's still sure Rinoa never did. But...

Ukitake looks back to the screen.]

I'll be honest. I don't know exactly how I feel about you, but...I cannot deny a peculiar interest when it comes to you.

_{[Despite all the times that Urahara has bluntly pointed out emotions to others, this is perhaps one of the few times that someone has been so emotionally truthful with him about him. It's... Well, his silly little grin after a few moments of blinking probably says it all.]}

[...OH YOU. Ukitake lets out a quick breath and reaches up to rub one of his ears, glad no one else is around.]

_{[There's a wide grin at that.]}

[Urahara gets a small smile. But no answer.]
